Montgomery Barnett is committed to diversity

When It Comes To Diversity, We Have a Global Perspective!

At Montgomery Barnett, we're all about people – all kinds of people – and the power of their ideas. Because our practice extends globally, we seek men and women from diverse backgrounds in order to build a law firm that's as diversified as our client base.

Montgomery Barnett is committed to being a diverse workplace that reflects the diverse community in which we live and work. We firmly believe that a diverse workforce makes us a better law firm. It enables us to bring a broader perspective to the problems our clients face, leads to a higher quality of work, and also enriches the work atmosphere itself. Accordingly, it is the goal of the Firm to foster and maintain a firm-wide culture that supports and promotes diversity, so that all attorneys, regardless of their background, feel welcome, included, valued, supported, and able to succeed.

Montgomery Barnett seeks to recruit, retain, and promote attorneys who are diverse in every sense of the word. In addition to supporting the professional careers of women and racial and ethnic minorities, the Firm believes that our clients benefit from the varying perspectives and life experiences that individuals with other types of diverse backgrounds bring to our Firm. To that end, the Firm has taken a number of specific and deliberate steps to implement its commitment to diversity.

The Firm has signed and is committed to the Diversity Pledge distributed by the National Bar Association. At Montgomery Barnett, we foster a highly productive work environment that treats all employees with respect, values diverse perspectives, encourages individual growth and achievement and rewards people based on their performance.

The Firm participates in events sponsored by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. Some of our lawyers are members of the Louis A Martinet Society, and have served as Co-General Counsel to the National Bar Association during the Presidency of Clyde Bailey. As a part of its commitment to diversity in the work place, the Firm participates in diversity job fairs sponsored by various entities. For years its partners have participated in the Orientation of Minority Law Students at Tulane University. The Firm sponsors the membership of its members and encourages active participation in such organizations as: 100 Black Men (a national benevolent organization that sponsors activities for the underprivileged), Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc. (the oldest African-American fraternity in the United States), and Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (an entity that provides legal services to the underprivileged). Our partners are members of the Corporate Counsel Section of the National Bar Association and have contributed articles to its publications. We are constantly looking for opportunities to promote diversity in the demographics of our work world.

At Montgomery Barnett, we value you because of how you think, what you can contribute, and the potential of all you can become.
