A partner of Montgomery, Barnett, Brown, Read, Hammond & Mintz, Albert Mintz is engaged in business and corporate law, including taxation, mergers and acquisitions, banking, financing and commercial transactions, real estate, estate planning, wills, trust and probate, antitrust and insurance defense. He has served as an advisor and as counsel for New York banks and their attorneys. He has broad experience in taxation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, probate and estate administration, general corporate and partnership law including formation of numerous corporations, ordinary partnerships and limited partnerships for various clients; preparation of private placement memoranda; client counseling in connection with federal securities law and state Blue Sky laws; and representation of boards of directors in general conduct of corporate affairs and in disputes with shareholders. Mr. Mintz is an accredited Tax Specialist and Estate Planning and Administration Specialist by the Louisiana Bar Association. A member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association (Chairman, Indigent Clients Funds Committee), the New Orleans Bar Association (Executive Committee, 1971-74; Ethics Committee), the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, and the American Law Institute, Mr. Mintz also serves as a member of the Tulane Law Review Board of Managing Editors, on the Advisory Board of Tulane Law School, and on Tulane's Corporate Law Institute Advisory Committee. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Tulane Emeritus Club and has served as its Vice Chairman and President. He is a Charter Member of the Louisiana Bar Foundation and the Louisiana Historical Society. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court and all Louisiana state courts, the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. He has been honored by the American, New Orleans and Louisiana Bar Associations for his 50th year of practice and still practicing full time. In 2001, Albert Mintz, together with Robert Boh, was named by Tulane University as the Outstanding Alumni of 1951. Mr. Mintz has been involved in numerous civic, religious and charitable organizations as a board member, including the Jewish Endowment Foundation, Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans, Touro Infirmary Board of Trustees, Touro Infirmary Foundation, for which he has been chosen as the 1999 recipient of the Judah Touro Society Award for his outstanding contribution to the hospital and its Foundation over an extended period of time and is on the Board of Directors of Temple Sinai. In May, 2003, Albert Mintz was honored by Tulane University for being one of the outstanding Volunteers of the year to the University. In 2004, Albert Mintz was honored by the Young Leadership Council as a "Role Model". Mr. Mintz has been a stalwart member of and has served as co-chairman of the Tulane's Summer Lyric Theatre Board. He also served as past Chairman of the Civics Affairs Committee and State Legislature Committees (1968-69) of the Chamber of Commerce. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Tulane University in 1948 and a Juris Doctor from Tulane University School of Law in 1951. He joined Montgomery, Barnett in 1956.
