A partner of Montgomery Barnett since January, 2004, Mr. Brooks is primarily engaged in admiralty litigation involving hull and machinery, collisions, groundings, pollution, cargo subrogation and insurance coverage issues. He also has extensive experience in commercial litigation, products liability and transportation litigation in state and federal courts.
Mr. Brooks is a member of The Louisiana State Bar Association, The United States Maritime Law Association, The Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, The New Orleans Mariners Club, The Houston Mariners Club, and The Tulane Maritime Law Center Liaison Group. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana; and all state courts and the Supreme Court of Louisiana.
Born in 1966 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Mr. Brooks received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Washington and Lee University in 1988 and a Juris Doctorate Degree from Tulane University School of Law in 1992. He was a partner in another law firm prior to joining Montgomery Barnett in 2001.
